How to Save Any Webpage as a Portable PDF (Desktop & Mobile)

How to Save Any Webpage as a Portable PDF (Desktop & Mobile)

That one page you’d like to save for later may come up at some point. If you save it as a PDF, it will be precisely the same when you go back to it. Because of this, turning a webpage into a PDF file is a great way to save web data for our own records, study, and other uses. This is how you do it.

Desktop browsers

For most browsers, the fastest and best way to save a page as a PDF is to use the Print tool. It seems like the right thing to do is to select “Save page as,” but that option only saves pages in a web format, not as a PDF file. It would help if you used the “Print” button.

Step 1: Go to the file menu in your browser and choose Print. It works with Chrome, Firefox, Brave, Safari, and Edge. Press Ctrl + P or Command + P on a Mac to start Print in almost all browsers.

Step 2: From the choice that comes up, choose “Save as PDF.”

Step 3: Choose how you want the pages to be laid out and measured.

Step 4: Save the PDF where you want it to be saved.

Mobile browsers

Here’s how to use a mobile browser to turn a webpage into a PDF:

Safari for iOS/iPad

Safari on the iPhone and iPad can make a PDF in two different ways. The picture tool is used in the first method:

Step 1: Open a page in Safari and take a picture of it. This method is different for each gadget.

Step 2: Make your selections by selecting the “Full page” tab on the subsequent screen. Mark your progress by clicking “Done.”

Step 3: On the next screen, click Save PDF to files.

Step 4: Pick a place on your device and click “Save” to finish.

Option 2: Safari for iOS/iPad

The Share tool is used in the second method:

Step 1: Open the page in Safari and click on the “Share” button.

Step 2: Choose Options from the drop-down (iPad) or pop-up (iPhone) Share Sheet next to the page title.

Step 3: Pick a PDF from the list that comes up next, then tap Back (iPad) or Done (iPhone).

Step 4: Click Save to files on the Share Sheet.

Step 5: Pick a place to save it, then click Save.

Chrome for Android

To save an online page as a PDF in Chrome for Android, do the following:

Step 1: Launch Chrome and navigate to the page you wish to share. After that, pull up a menu by tapping the three dots on the top right corner, and then choose Share.

Step 2: A choice will appear at the bottom of the screen. Choose Print from this list.

Step 3: Click the down button at the top of the screen, and then pick “Save as PDF” from the menu that appears.

Step 4: Paper size has a drop-down menu where you may select the desired options for your document, including size, color, and number of pages.

Step 5: When you’re ready to save your file, click the circle PDF button on the right side of the screen.

Step 6: To give your file a name, go to the bottom of the next screen, type the name into the text box there, and then click Save.

If you press the three horizontal lines in the upper left corner of your screen, you can also choose where to save your work. You can choose from several places, such as the Downloads folder, another location on your computer, or your Google Drive.

Chrome for iOS

You can also save PDFs straight from Chrome on an iOS device, but the steps are slightly different.

Step 1: Find the share icon in the upper right part of your screen and click on it. Next, scroll down until you see the print option. Pick it.

Step 2: To get a better look, use both fingers to pinch the Print menu. This will zoom in and make the picture smaller. If you do this, the page will instantly turn into a PDF that you can read on the entire screen.

Step 3: Pick Save to files once you go back to the top right and select the Share icon. Now is the time to name your file. You have successfully created a PDF version of your website. You should keep in mind that Firefox for iOS is also compatible with this procedure.

Extensions and web tools

Do you want more ways to make certain types of PDFs? Do you need to change something about PDFs before they are made? You can change HTML to PDFs with a lot of different web-based extensions and tools. You can also choose how the PDF looks and where it goes. Developers and businesses that need to convert a lot of pages at once will find these choices very useful.

PDFShift

PDFShift is a quick online tool made to work quickly. A free account is enough if you only want to use it for a short time. However, the real value lies in the complete set of tools that let you convert large amounts of HTML quickly for essential projects.

NovaPDF

NovaPDF’s PDF creator and manager come with business-friendly rights. You can easily create a PDF by printing to NovaPDF. NovaPDF lets you customize the “printing” process with choices for watermarks, overlays, digital signatures, and more. It’s a good tool for more thorough work.

Adobe Acrobat

There is one more choice if you subscribe to Adobe services or are ready to start a free trial. You can add a PDF button to your browser with Adobe. This makes a simple “Convert to PDF” button that lets you convert files very quickly while you’re working on them. The button works on Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Chrome. If you use Adobe tools often, it might be more helpful.
